This is a simple side dish my mom used to make a lot. I don’t think I’ve had it for decades but I can still smell the savory aroma.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of butter
1 head cabbage, sliced
salt and pepper
6 glugs white or red wine
oregano to taste – I’d use about a tablespoon plus of dried oregano.
Melt butter in a large saute pan, add cabbage.
Cover and simmer until the cabbage is limp.
Add salt, pepper, wine and oregano.
Steam until done.
